Lean Manufacturing/Office

A Quick Glance

Lean Manufacturing began with Toyota. There, Taiichi Ohno, father of the Toyota Production System, recognized the waste that existed in the manufacturing process. Lean seeks to eliminate wasted activity in the workplace and encourages employees to become more actively involved in how the work is done. Lean can make a business more competitive in the marketplace. Although the roots of Lean are in manufacturing, the concepts have quickly transitioned into many types of industries including healthcare, finance, and other office environments. Lean_Pic

Lean Six Sigma

Six Sigma and Lean existed as separate problem solving methodologies for many years.  The tools actually complement each other.

Some companies prefer to start their problem solving deployments with Lean tools to reduce non value added activity in their processes.  Then they deploy Six Sigma, which focuses on data analysis and defect reduction.

Some training firms coin “Lean Six Sigma” as the latest buzz word to use for Lean training, but it contains very little if any of the Six Sigma analysis tools.

The goal at Strategic Leadership Solutions is to blend the two methodologies into one training curriculum.  A customized curriculum can be developed for your company.  Your industry and the nature of your business are considered, and a blended course can be developed selecting the appropriate tools from both Lean and Six Sigma.  The Lean concepts are presented, but the integrity of the Six Sigma tools and training are also maintained.  You will truly receive Lean Six Sigma training.

Just like the Six Sigma counterpart, a project will be required for Certification.
